In 1976 Connecticut Custom Car started in a 1 bay tobacco barn in a small town in Connecticut. Walt and Dianne became a husband and wife team. Walt had graduated with a Degree in Fine-Art Design. Walt painted and laid out the designs on the cars, while Dianne took care of the taping and color coordination. Walt added cartoons, shadowing, etc. to bring the paint design to life.

Walt and Dianne from the beginning worked day and night to build this company. Hard work allowed them to expand and move to a 12 bay shop in 1979, at which time they decided to take on collision repair. Walt and Dianne had an eye for detail, perfection as well as what they wanted for the future. In 1990 their son Walt III jointed this family team. Father and son laid the custom candies, pearls, and stock paints, while Dianne was in charge of the office. Walt III brought with him an expertise in painting and color matching. He also was instrumental with introducing modern technologies along with administrative knowledge to move the business forward.
